FC Cleburne, which will compete in the Premier Development League’s Mid South Division in 2017, revealed its logo on Tuesday.
The club is owned and operated by Neltex Sports Group, which is comprised of distinguished sport executives, entrepreneurs and successful business owners based in Texas. The expansion franchise will compete against Mississippi Brilla FC, the OKC Energy U23, Brazos Valley Cavalry F.C., Texas United and Houston FC in 2017.
“It’s another great day in Cleburne, and I am excited that this spring Cleburne will be home to both professional baseball and soccer,” Cleburne Mayor Scott Cain said. “In a matter of weeks, The Depot will host teams from a great soccer league from across the country.”
FC Cleburne will play its home matches at The Depot at Cleburne Station. The team begins its inaugural PDL season on the road against Texas United on May 5. FC Cleburne will play 14 matches in 2017 – seven home and seven away – with its regular season ending with a home matchup against Cavalry F.C. on July 15.
