TAMPA, Fla. – The 2017 college season has officially kicked off, and as players look to stand out on their paths to the professional level, the Premier Development League has highlighted 95 players to keep an eye on this fall.

“We wish all players who competed in the PDL this summer and in years past good luck as they begin play at their universities this fall,” PDL Director Todd Eason said. “We’re excited to watch and track the many talented individuals, including a number of players named to the PDL Top Prospects list, as they work their way towards the professional level.”

Duke University’s Brian White, who scored 17 goals and recorded three assists for the New York Red Bulls U23 en route to claiming the Golden Boot and Most Valuable Player awards, is among the many players named from NCAA Division I.

A total of 22 PDL players named to the PDL Players to Watch in College list will compete in the Atlantic Coast Conference this fall. Ben Lundgaard, Jon Bakero, Brad Dunwell, Diego Campos and Tanner Dieterich, who are all ranked inside the top 10 in the sixth and final edition of the 2017 PDL Top Prospects list, are among the standouts set to play in the conference.

A total of 14 players in NCAA Division II, nine talents in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics and one Juco talent – FC Boulder U23 forward Ryosuke Kinoshita – round out the first edition of the selections.

The PDL Players to Watch in College list includes players named to and considered for the six 2017 PDL Top Prospects lists throughout the summer. A total of 24 scouts – including head coaches, technical directors and coaching directors – across North America provided the PDL with valuable insight on players who were performing at the highest level within the league, possessed strong technical and tactical qualities and had the potential to play at the professional level. The PDL Top Prospects list debuted in 2015 and has helped identify and promote high-level Under-23 players before they made their professional debuts.
