College soccer returns on Monday with a small slate of NCAA DI action involving PDL Players to Watch after a hectic weekend.
First at 6 p.m. ET, Virginia faces a non-conference foe in Davidson. The Cavaliers are coming off a tough overtime loss to North Carolina last Friday, their first of the season, but they’ll hope the combination of Colorado Rapids U23 goalkeeper Jefferson Caldwell, Fresno Fuego defender Sergi Nus, Cincinnati Dutch Lions forward Kennedy Nwabia, and AC Connecticut forward Edward Opoku will be enough to return them to their winning ways.
Next at 7 p.m. ET is a clash between Syracuse and Colgate. The Orange have hit a bit of a rut lately, dropping three straight to Louisville, Cornell and Duke, but will hope to turn things around on the road on Monday. Led by their PDL trio of K-W United FC defender Kamal Miller, Reading United AC midfielder Mo Adams, and Reading forward Hugo Delhommelle, a streak-snapping win will be just what the doctor ordered.
Finally, a late 10 p.m. ET west-coast showdown between Portland and Cal Poly closes the Monday slate. Led by their own PDL trio of Sounders FC U23 goalkeeper Paul Christensen, Lane United FC midfielder Matthew Coffey, and Portland Timbers U23 forward Benji Michel, the Pilots will hope to bounce back from a tough loss to UC Santa Barbara last Saturday.
In total, 10 PDL players will take the field in three matches on Monday.
