Amid spectacular collegiate seasons, five Premier Development League players were named in TopDrawerSoccer's Player of the Year race update.

Among those under consideration are Carolina Dynamo forward Jon BakeroNew York Red Bull U23 forward Brian WhiteBurlingame Dragons forward Tomas Hilliard, and Wilmington Hammerheads FC midfielder Cameron Lindley. Also noted is PDL alum and 2015 D.C. United U23 midfielder Jake Rozhansky, capping an impressive list of high-level PDL talent.

The Dynamo's Bakero is in the midst of a standout season for Wake Forest, as the senior forward has lead the Demon Deacons to a 9-1-0 start to the season while notching six goals and tallying 10 assists. His assist totals lead the team and his goals are second only to Luis Argudo, as the two have powered Wake Forest to a perfect ACC conference record so far this year.

Red Bulls U23 forward Brian White has similarly been a standout for Duke in what has been a strong ACC campaign this year. The team currently holds a 7-1-1 record, 2-1-0 in conference, and White's six goals lead the Blue Devils in that category. White has also tallied one assist as he's continued to make a case for himself as potential Player of the Year.

Dragons' forward Tomas Hilliard has had his numbers lag with the Stanford Cardinal, but what he has lacked in scoring, he's made up for in offensive presence. With Hilliard leading the attack in all nine matches this season, the Cardinal have started their two-time championship defending campaign at 7-2-0 and earned a win in their first Pac-12 conference match against San Diego State.

The first of two PDL midfielders on the list, the Wilmington Hammerheads' Cam Lindley has led North Carolina to a 9-1-0 record and a perfect 3-0-0 conference start. Along the way, Lindley has scored two goals, but more importantly has supplied a team-leading seven assists, setting up his teammates for success.

Maryland Terrapins midfielder Jake Rozhansky rounds out the PDL presence on the list of possibles. The alum has helped Maryland to a strong 6-0-3 record, remaining unbeaten this season, and has contributed two goals and a team-leading five assists to the Terrapins' efforts.
