Tampa, Fla. - The 2017 college season is rapidly approaching the postseason and a number of the players that left their mark on the 2017 PDL campaign have continued to deliver in a big way - including those in just their first or second season on campus.

Based on their combined performances in PDL competition over the summer as well as during the current collegiate campaign, a total of 30 underclassmen have been chosen as standouts among their respective classes. 

Wilmington Hammerheads FC and UNC-Chapel Hill midfielder Cam Lindley tops the list of 20 sophomores which also includes five players in Tanner Dieterich (Nashville SC U23/Clemson), Benji Michel (Portland Timbers U23/Portland), Mo Adams (Reading United AC/Syracuse), Malick Mbaye (SIMA Aguilas/Clemson) and Elvir Ibisevic (Des Moines Menace/Omaha) that made their way onto the final Top Prospects list of the season.

Colorado Rapids U23 and Indiana University standout Griffin Dorsey is joined by North Carolina FC U23 and Duke University goalkeeper Will Pulisic atop the list of 10 freshmen that have garnered recognition after parlaying their PDL experience into noteworthy rookie campaigns.

4 Benji Michel Forward The No. 19 Top Prospect on the final list of 2017, Michel has carried goal-scoring touch that saw him finish third on the squad with four tallies for Portland Timbers U23 over to the pitch for the Pilots where he stands in the top-20 nationally in goals (9) and goals per game (0.75), which earned him the 31st spot on TDS' list
5 Aaron Molloy Midfielder Has appeared in all 13 games for Penn State after finishing second on Reading United AC with seven goals in 11 games during the 2017 season
6 Mo Adams Midfielder Highly-touted defensive midfielder landed in the top-20 of Top Drawer Soccer's Midseason Top-100 rankings and has appeared in 14 matches for the Orange after playing 12 matches for a K-W United side that posted six shutouts and allowed 0.85 goals per game in 2017
7 Malick Mbaye Defender Physical defender and another Midseason Top-100 selection by Top Drawer Soccer who has helped seventh-ranked Clemson post a 0.83 goals against average in 13 games. Ranked No. 11 on final Top Prospects list of 2017
8 Abdou Samake Defender Has recorded 12 starts in 13 appearances and ranks among the top-five in minutes on a No. 23 Michigan team that has allowed one goal or less in 12 of 14 matches overall
9 Jelani Pieters Forward Sits among the top-15 in the ACC in goals, points, goals per game while ranking third in the conference with three game-winning goals
10 Elvir Ibisevic Forward Leads the Summit League in both points (17) and goals (8) - a number that ranks eighth nationally among sophomores

8 John Nelson Defender/Midfielder Has cemented his spot in the Tar Heels' starting 11, ranking third on the squad in minutes for a No. 4 UNC team that is allowing less than one goal per game
9 Matias Barraza Midfielder Has recorded two goals and one assist in 10 appearances for an unbeaten FIU side that sits just outside the top-10 in the latest United Soccer Coaches poll
