Pioneers' Viera Wins Goal of the PDL Playoffs

Left-footed strike earned 48 percent of the vote, edges Tucson's Espindola

Western Mass Pioneers forward Maximiliano Viera earns 2016 Goal of the PDL Playoffs honors after hitting an incredible shot on the bounce against Reading United AC in the Eastern Conference Championship play-in round.

Viera earned 48 percent of 3,326 total votes, while FC Tucson's Pedro Espindola finished in second with 36 percent.

Sailing into the top-left corner, Viera's blast was the opening goal of the game. The Pioneers finished the season with a 7-4-4 record, including their postseason result.
