In the showdown between Virginia and Portland, eight PDL Players to Watch took the field in a contest the Cavaliers ultimately won, 2-1. Lane United FC midfielder Matthew Coffey opened the scoring in the match, giving Portland a 1-0 lead in the 12th minute. That lead would be broken in the 73rd minute as the Cavaliers pulled back an equalizer before AC Connecticut forward Edward Opoku bagged the overtime winner midway through the first period.
Elsewhere, K-W United FC forward Munir Saleh and Tampa Bay Rowdies U23 midfielder Andrew Samuels took the field as opponents when UConn and Maryland clashed, with Samuels' Terrapins taking the 3-2 victory, though neither player tallied a point.
Finally, in LIU Posts's 2-1 win over Molloy College, FA Euro midfielder Charlie Ledula and Jersey Express midfielder Harry Pearse each took the field for 90 minutes, with Ledula finding the back of the net with a 78th minute winner for the Pioneers.
