In the lone NCAA match featuring PDL Players to Watch on Monday, Duke got the better of Georgetown.
The Blue Devils, lead by New York Red Bull U23 defender Markus Fjortoft and forward Brian White, got the better of the Hoyas over a tightly-contested 90 minutes, just edging them for a 2-1 victory. The win boosts Duke to a 10-2-1 record and drops Georgetown down to 8-2-1 on the season.
It was a big night for the Red Bulls U23, as the team had four players take the field in the match. Fjortoft went the full 90 minutes in defense for the Blue Devils, making several crucial stops, while White took care of business on the offensive end, scoring once in the win.
