NCAA DI and NAIA: Wednesday PDL Players Preview

Wednesday brings college action back in earnest with a number of PDL talents involved in conference tournament play.

Leading the way is ACC Tournament play, with PDL Players to Watch on all four of the teams remaining in the semifinals. Plenty of eyes will be on Michigan Bucks midfielder Brad DunwellGPS Portland Phoenix midfielder Emmanuel Twumasi and Carolina Dynamo forward Jon Bakero as Wake Forest take on Nashville SC U23 defender Tanner DieterichSIMA Aguilas midfielder Malick Sarr Mbaye and Clemson on one side of the bracket. On the other side, Colorado Rapids U23 goalkeeper Jefferson CaldwellFresno Fuego defender Sergi NusCincinnati Dutch Lions forward Kennedy NwabiaAC Connecticut forward Edward Opoku and Virginia take on Chicago FC United forward Jeff Farina and Notre Dame. The winners will clash this weekend in the ACC Tournament Finals.

Elsewhere in NCAA DI, FC Tucson forward Afonso Pinheiro and Albany take on Vermont in the America East Tournament semifinals, Oklahoma City Energy U23 goalkeeper Eric Dick and Butler take on Xavier in the Big East Tournament semifinals, and FC Tucson forward Daniel Musovski take on Grand Canyon in the WAC Tournament first round.

Also taking the field are FC Tucson defender Aaron HerreraAlbuquerque Sol forward Luke Lawrence and New Mexico as they take on Charlotte in the CUSA Tournament quarterfinals, and New York Red Bull U23 midfielder Christopher Lema and forward Zachary Knudson as Georgetown try and advance past St. John's in the Big East Tournament semifinals.

Finally, in NAIA play, Reading United AC midfielder Jorge Guinovart and Thunder Bay Chill defender Mitchell Osmond lead Rio Grande against West Virginia Tech in the RSC Tournament semifinals.

In total, 19 PDL players take the field across eight matches on Wednesday.
