Nashville SC rookie’s first professional strike earns weekly award

TAMPA, Fla. – Nashville SC forward Alan Winn has won the USL Fans’ Choice Goal of the Week for Week 4 of the 2018 season after a sensational strike that marked the former PDL Top Prospect’s first professional goal took top spot in the weekly online poll.  

A former standout for Tobacco Road FC in the Premier Development League as well as the University of North Carolina collegiately, Winn led Nashville to its first home win in the professional ranks with an outstanding low finish to the left corner of the net in the first half of the club’s 2-0 victory against the previously undefeated Charlotte Independence this past Saturday.

Winn’s goal earned 41 percent of the poll conducted online at USLSoccer.com that concluded on Thursday. Orange County SC’s Nansel Selbol finished second with 21 percent as he put home a clever, curled finish to cap his side’s 3-0 victory against the LA Galaxy II this past Saturday, while Tommy Heinemann’s fine first-time finish that marked his first goal for Penn FC that opened the scoring in a 1-1 draw with ATL UTD 2 took third with 20 percent.
